Happy Valentine's Day 2-14-2005
...when it's all worth it. Darling Daniel just gave me the valentine on the right. Notice the long vowel sign above the "e". The rest may be unintelligible but, darn, if that boy doesn't pay attention to detail. And not to be bested, Darling Jack (5), whipped up a portrait of me. This may be the nicest compliment I've EVER received from a man. My forty-one year old mommy-ish frame, mousie brown hair and the complete absence of makeup have somehow not deterred him from seeing me as a long lashed blonde with a Suzanne Somersesque single sideways ponytail. Was this child reincarnated from the 80's or is he watching aerobics on FitTV at 5:30 every morning with his father? Either way...The kid perceives me like that...and my heart has just melted all over the floor. Gosh, I love my boys.
